Bullet (the Magic Bullet)'s story

Bullet was the love of my life, the dog of my dreams. In fact I often made up songs for him and wrote one with those lyrics, to the tune of "She was only 16...)
I adopted Bullet at the SPCA at 18 months old, 58 pounds. At 9 he was diagnosed with lymphoma and given the standard prognosis of 12-18 months with chemo. With chemo and my home care regimen (diet, supps etc) he survived the rest of his natural life cancer free - 4 years and 4 months post diagnosis, I lost my precious boy to renal failure. He was nearly 14. Please see my tribute to Bullet called "I'm Still Holding You" at www.helpyourogfightcancer.com. The Magic Bullet Fund is Bullet's legacy, he has helped 140 beautiful dogs fight cancer!

Cancer fighting tip from Bullet (the Magic Bullet)'s owner Laurie K.

No vaccines, no carbs, choose treatment options carefully, feed your dog Bullet's Cancer Diet. Give your dog antioxidants, immune boosters and O-3 fatty acids, Poly-MVA if you can afford it. Give L-Arginine, Give L-Glutamine if your dog is in chemo and if your dog has never had a seizure (or antii-seizure meds). Give your dog more love and hugs and kisses than any dog in the world has ever received. Read my book Help Your Dog Fight Cancer and donate to the Magic Bullet Fund to help other dogs survive when their family can't afford treatment.

Bullet (the Magic Bullet)'s owner Since I lost Bullet, I have lost 2 more pets with cancer. My precious cat TipToe had a fibrosarcoma tumor on her rib cage, diagnosed in July 2009. I gave her very small doses of neoplasene and the tumor shrank. After that the fibrosarcoma never progressed. A year and a half after the tumor was diagnosed, on 12/23/10, I lost TipToe to kidney failure at 19 years old. This past Thursday I lost Butchie, a beautiful 90-pound 14-year-old Rottie/Sibe mix to nasal cancer. Because of his age it was not diagnosed or treated. I considered giving him neoplasene but decided not to. After about 3 months, when he started to have difficulty breathing, we helped him to the Rainbow Bridge. TipToe and Butchie were both very old. I believe that cancer is a natural progression on a cellular level - if we live long enough almost all of us will develop cancer. The better we care for our pets the longer they live and the longer they live, the more likely it is that cancer will develop. The losses are always unbearable but the joy of having our pets far outweighs the pain of losing them. And when the losses come we then have the honor of keeping a piece of our TipToes, Butchies and Bullets in our hearts forever.
