Wimby's story

Wimby is a Basset Bleu de Gascogne, which is a French breed that is very rare in the U.S.

She's a wonderful, spunky, loving little dog.

In late December, she started bleeding internally. The ER vet saw a mass on her spleen, and removed the entire spleen. The pathology came back as hemangiosarcoma and we are devastated.

Cancer fighting tip from Wimby's owner Stephanie W.

Dexter's owner Wimby is adorable! I've just recently gone through the process of changing diet and the introduction of herbal supplements with Dexter and he took to things well, for what it's worth I found you just need to introduce things slowly. Sending positive thoughts to you and Wimby, she's just precious!

Lucy's owner I am so sorry to hear about Wimby. Our Lucy appeared happy and healthy after her spleen was removed. We tried chemotherapy but we lost her, something that I grieve about every day. We tried all that we could do with Lucy but this disease is VERY aggressive. It wasn't until her final days that she finally layed down and stopped eating. Try all the treatments you can but in the end, just enjoy every day with Wimby and love her up as much as you can while she is healthy. We had a bit of a bucket list for Lucy... taking her to all of the places that we had wanted to take her but never got around to it. It sounds like Wimby is a wonderful dog!

Summer's owner I kind of wanted to take Summer back to the beach, but it was a 5 hour drive. We decided it was too much of a trip for her. Anyway she had been just before she had surgery. So we made sure she either went to the lake or pool every week

Wimby's owner Sorry if I was not clear. Wimby is still with us and seems healthy. We're changing her diet and adding herbal supplements to build her immune system up. We will cherish each day we have with her, for as long as we're blessed with her presence.

Ginger's owner What a sweet dog! Look at those eyes! Our Ginger had to have her spleen removed too... but we did all natural things and got to keep her. There is hope. Let me know if you'd like to chat, or read Ginger's story here or on my website, RosemarysSolutions.com Blessings to little Wimby.

Shaggy's owner Our beloved dog, Mortimer, was also diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma Jan. of 2010. Very poor prognosis but did attempt chemo. Morty passed away 8 weeks later. Hemangiosarcoma is a devastating diagnosis. Not a lot of treatment options. Wimby was a beautiful girl and treasure all the wonderful memories you have of her. It will get easier but takes along time. It has been 1 year since we most Mortimer but yet I still cry and think about him often. Rest in peace, Wimby. You are now over the Rainbow Bridge but will forever be in the hearts of your family.
